Questions
How to work with the Studio, how cloud and local generation differ, and what to do when a frame comes out wrong.
An AI studio in the xFormat ecosystem, a whole factory: films and video, motion graphics, images, voices and sound, music, translation and dubbing, animation and editing. It works alone on each of these, or the Director chains them into a finished film. It also edits and styles footage you already have.
The app for macOS and Windows is free: local models and all the hands-on work at no cost. Only use through the xFormat cloud is paid, by subscription. The price comes before the cloud launches.
Not if you work in the browser: there cloud models generate, by subscription. The free app for macOS and Windows is for generating locally.
Not for the Studio in the browser: the cloud models do the heavy work. For local generation the install wizard checks your device and offers models that will run on it.
Yes. The “Describe what you want” field on Home starts the Studio's Director, and every page (Frames, Video, Sound, Script, Edit, Motion) works by hand. The agent simply decides more on its own.
Not in what you see: the interface, projects and tools are the same. Only where the model runs differs. The cloud asks nothing of your device; local generation is faster without queues and uploads, works offline and lets you pick models for the task.
Yes. The app does both: for example frames and voices locally, heavy video in the cloud. You choose, step by step.
The app with local models works offline: the models are read from disk. The internet is needed to download models and for cloud steps.
It checks the device, offers a set of models that fit, and installs the engines, models and ready settings itself. You only choose what you need: frames, video, voice, sounds.
Write the idea in the “Describe what you want” field: what about, for whom, how many seconds, vertical or horizontal. Press “Make a plan” and the Director shows the scenes, characters, style and music before generating anything.
Yes. Upload clips to the editing room: cut them, add subtitles, music, a style and a cover, and make a vertical version for TikTok, Reels or Shorts. By hand, or ask the agent.
It depends on length, style and where generation runs. The Director estimates the time before starting. The animatic takes minutes because its frames are still; video is made last.
Fix it with the smallest change: a wrong detail with a photo edit in words, a wrong shot by redoing it with a better description, pace and loudness in the edit without a new render.
In the app with local models your files never leave your computer; what xFormat does with data in the cloud is set out in its privacy policy: Privacy policy
In the browser, in the projects of your xFormat account; in the app, in the Studio's folder on disk. Every run keeps its settings so it can be repeated.
It depends on the licences of the models the film was made with. The Studio shows each model's licence and, for ads, suggests which models can be used commercially. Someone else's voice only with its owner's permission.
Open the Studio in the browser or install the app. The guide takes you from the idea to the finished video.
